Southwold Pier
Southwold on the Suffolk coast is an idyllic location for any landscape photographer. It’s full of charm with it’s colourful beach huts, sand dunes and the well known pier to which i decided to shoot on this particular day. I have photographed the pier many times to add to my collection of seascape photography but i [...]
Suffolk Snow 2012
In early February the UK had a few days of snow fall which was ideal for heading out to some of my favourite local locations for some landscape photography. In one morning i tried to cover a few spots that i knew would be fantastic for some beach hut photography and also some more fine [...]
Exploring Grain
Two recent photos that explore shooting with a high ISO to achieve more grain in my photography. These two abstract landscape shots were taken in and around Rendlesham Forest and use intentional camera movement with an ISO setting of 12800 shot on a Canon 7D. I find the grain when processed a little more along with [...]
Felixstowe Dusk
Here is a recent collection of seascape photography shot in Felixstowe during October 2011. As Felixstowe is situated on the east coast the facing sky is mostly always perfect at sunset and dusk for subtle pinks and purples. The photos are a mix of techniques i practice a lot with seascape photography, all are long [...]
Royalty Free Getty Images
I have a collection of my photography available for royalty free licensing through Getty Images. The collection features landscape photography, seascape photography as well as other shots taken over the last few years. The collection can be found here.
Soft Focus Seascape
I have recently been experimenting with shooting slightly off focus long exposure seascapes. It is another route to further a more nostalgic feel and possibly abstract look to my seascape photography. I have no idea how i was able to capture the waves in lines but this shot so far is by far my favourite [...]
Felixstowe Pier Sunrise
Felixstowe Pier is a subject matter that appears in my seascape photography quite often. It’s now a derelict pier but still holds a lot of character and personal memories for me.
Rebirth
A small glimpse at a style i’ve been working on lately for my landscape photography. I have an urge to try and be more abstract and explore more of a dream-like feeling. Trying to keep digital post production to a minimum with only black and white conversion and a square crop. Sadly i no longer [...]
Art on the Prom 2010
Art on the Prom 2010 turned out to be another outstanding day with many people walking the promenade in Felixstowe to browse all the various art on show. The photo above seemed to be a popular photo of the day, with many people enjoying the large print. It was a pleasure to met so many [...]
Suffolk Poppies
The Poppy is a great subject to photograph at this time of year in the Suffolk landscape. I find myself drawn to singular Poppies most of the time, I love the way they become a perfect metaphor for solitude. It’s a flower that certainly compliments the Suffolk countryside, subtle yet elegant. I have photographed them [...]
Mendocino Rain
Mendocino in California had to be one of my favourite places i visited on a recent trip to the west coast of America. This shot was taken while exploring the Headlands State Park before the rain began. An attractive cove at low tide revealed a shoreline that was pretty much abscent of colour, dark grey [...]
Good Morning Oceanside
The Oregon coast fascinates me, when staying in Oceanside i was never able to take my eyes off the distant hills which always had a smooth flowing fog sweeping over them.
Farmer’s Art awarded 2nd Place
Farmer’s Art recieved 2nd place at the 5th Black and White Spider Awards in the Nature category. The shot was taken near Falkenham in Suffolk, which is a favourite location of mine for photographing the Suffolk landscape.
