Eventide, a collection of minimal seascape photography that combines shallow focus and intentional camera movement to create images that are not dependent on a main subject. Each photo takes an abstract impressionist approach reflected by composition, painterly sweeping motions and colour palettes that blend and merge together.
For some time I have been experimenting with more minimal seascapes. I was in search of stripping back certain elements such as objects or leading lines. Questions were such as “Is a focal point necessary in certain circumstances?” and “Does the horizon need to be in focus for seascape photography?”. These images are a direct result to those questions.
