Recent explorations in high ISO abstract photography with long exposures have led me to explore abstracting my seascapes. Though these two images are not using high ISO they are using a popular technique called ICM photography. ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) is an extremely effective and fun way of achieving abstract photography. The perfect time to explore this technique is dawn or dusk where the colours are soft and subtle. During this time the light is a lot softer so you can obtain the desired slower shutter speeds more easily. Whilst using this abstract photography technique i have also tried to combine it with the style of shooting wide open. Adding some depth of field to the images has created an even softer effect on the motion of the waves.
